CORONAVIRUS GOT YOU LOCKED DOWN?
Due to the current situation, travelling is completely out of the question. However, with people getting restless at home, I have decided to offer virtual travel experiences.
Through my online experiences, I hope to share some of the amazing details about Barcelona and feed you just enough to make you ready to buy your ticket and come visit for real as soon as it's possible. We will connect online through Zoom and using images, video, and story, you'll get to know the city, culture, and traditions of Barcelona. Now might be the chance to finally visit Barcelona without the cost of an arm and a leg for the flights and accommodation. |
Choose from the Experiences below
Each experience is private for you and your household unless you want to include another party, in which case the price charged will be per device.

Gothic QUARTER tour |
Chat with an Expat |
This is the official tour of the central quarter of Barcelona.
We will start off in our virtual cafe, so feel free to bring a drink (I’ll have tea) where we will take the opportunity to get to know each other before the tour begins. I can tell you about how I ended up in Barcelona and you can tell me about why you decided to virtually travel here! Next we will begin with our virtual tour through the Gothic quarter. Through the power of pictures, videos, and Google maps, I will take you through the narrow streets of the oldest neighborhood in Barcelona, sharing the enchanting history along the way. Hopefully at the end, you will have seen enough to feel like you were really here and also feel the itch to book a ticket and come for real when it’s possible. Top points: The Cathedral, the Ramblas, the City Hall, Roman ruins, local legends, Gaudi AND Picasso. Duration: 1.5 hours Price: €30 |
I can’t wait to meet you! During my tours, I find that what people crave most is to be able to connect & learn about my experience living in the city, and getting to know the city better. In this experience, we will get to do both!
We can sit down over a coffee or tea (whatever you have in your kitchen; I’ll have a tea!) and get to know each other. Tell me about your interest in Barcelona - why did you choose to travel to Barcelona virtually? And I will tell you about my experience moving to Barcelona and all of the wonderful things that I’ve learned about the city and its people. I am itching to share some details about the city itself so that you might be enticed to travel here (or return, if you’ve already been). I’ll share some images and media and I’ll explain an overview of the history of the city as well as an orientation about the current city today. By the end of our chat, you will feel like you had a kind of orientation to Barcelona city hosted by your new local friend (me!) and hopefully you’ll be excited to come and visit us for real (or book another experience to get to see more)! Duration: 1.5 hours Price: €20 |
Festivals & Fun Times / Trip Imagining |
WANDER WITH A LOCAL FRIEND |
When is the best time to come to Barcelona? How and where can you see some of the cool traditions that you see in pictures and videos?
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a super nerd for festivals and fun times. One of the best things about Barcelona city and Catalan culture is that there is ALWAYS something to do every week. The city hosts so many fun festivals and events FOR FREE that locals are never bored. For nearly 10 years, I have loved seeing and taking part in all of the local traditions and cultural programs so much that the calendar of events throughout the year is basically ingrained into my system. In this experience, I would like to share with you some of the main elements of Catalan culture and traditions. I’ll walk you through the year’s events and discuss some of the key figures and traditions involved in each one. Some are historical and others are just fun (such as 3 different open air cinemas!). Through video, image, and story, let me take you through a year in Barcelona. Now, after learning about all of these fun times, aren’t you ready to plan a trip? Let’s discuss your trip and imagine what kinds of things you can do when you get here. Based on everything you’ve learned so far, which festival or event would you want to try to plan your trip around? Let me help you to plan your trip so you can make the best of both the festival and the rest of the city! Duration: 2 hours Price: €30 |
Let’s explore together! A personalized experience completely catered to you and your interests. Do you want to go virtually or have a live walk?
We will start off with an introductory chat to get to know each other, and you can share what you are keen to learn about/see in the city. Then we’ll take off and explore! Virtual: Using a combination of media such as images, videos, and Google maps, I will take you around and share some interesting information and anecdotes about each place. We are totally free to jump around as we please, so we can focus on history, culture, personal stories and experiences, video examples, or even the local language (here they speak Catalan, not Spanish!). Live Walk: On a live video call, I will physically bring you around the city. We can take turns leading - You have the main controls to explore at your leisure by directing me which direction you want to walk to and what you want to look at. I’ll chime in with suggestions and fun anecdotes along the way. Whether you want to go inside of a local store or wander through the charming streets, I’ll take you there! Duration: Custom Price: €25/hour (Virtual) €30/hour (Live Walk) |
Find a nice comfy corner of your home where you can set up and travel virtually over to sunny Barcelona! Bring a nice drink to enjoy and you can imagine that we are either chatting away in a cafe or in a local friend’s home (which will, in fact, be mine!). I can even tell you about the weather and show you the view from my balcony in the Gothic quarter!
